- Brind’Amour signed a three year contract extension.
- The Washington Capitals made a trio of signings.
- The Capitals signed forward Garrett Pilon to a two year deal.
- First year is a two way deal, and the second year is a one way deal.

- Caps also signed defenseman Bobby Nardella to a two year deal with the same terms as Pilon’s.

- Caps signed forward Michael Sgarbossa to a two year, two way contract.

- With the series shifting to Long Island, the Tampa Bay Lightning look to keep their momentum going against the New York Islanders. In the first period Yanni Gourde would score to give the Bolts the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Cal Clutterbuck would score to tie the game, but with 20 seconds left in the period Brayden Point would score to give the Lightning the 2-1 victory and 2-1 series lead over the Islanders.
