- The NHL Department of Player Safety has fined Boston Bruins forward Jake DeBrusk.
- DeBrusk was fined $5000 for cross checking New York Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield on Monday night.
- DeBrusk’s fine is the max allowed under the CBA.

- Tampa Bay Lightning v. Carolina Hurricanes – Game 2 – 730p ET
- In Carolina for game two the Hurricanes and Tampa Bay Lightning would play another tightly contested matchup. After a scoreless first period Alex Killorn would open the scoring for the Bolts. Then in the third period Anthony Cirelli would strike to grow the Tampa lead to two. Andrei Svechnikov would strike late in the period, but the Lightning would hold on to win the game 2-1, and take the 2-0 series lead.
