- The NHL Department of Player Safety had a busy day as they issued three fines and a suspension.
- DoPS fined Florida Panthers defenseman Brandon Montour $5000 for spearing forward Pat Maroon of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
- DoPS also fined Panthers defenseman MacKenzie Weegar $5000 for high sticking Lightning forward Mathieu Joseph.
- DoPS fined Montreal Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson $1000 for dangerously tripping forward John Tavares of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
- DoPS would also suspend Lightning forward Pat Maroon for unsportsmanlike conduct towards Panthers defenseman Brandon Montour.
- In the NHL we would also see two clubs part ways with their coaches as both of their contracts are expiring this summer.
- John Tortorella would part ways with the Columbus Blue Jackets
- Rick Tocchet would part ways with the Arizona Coyotes.

- Dallas Stars v. Chicago Blackhawks – 7p ET
- In Chicago the Blackhawks would host the Dallas Stars, and in the first period Denis Gurianov would strike for the Stars, but tallies from MacKenzie Entwistle, Brandon Hagel, and Alex DeBrincat would give the Blackhawks the 3-1 lead. Then after a scoreless second period Mark Pysyk would score for the Stars, but DeBrincat’s second of the game would give the Blackhawks the 4-2 victory.
- Ottawa Senators v. Calgary Flames – 8p ET
- In Calgary the Ottawa Senators would come to town to take on the Flames. In the first period Johnny Gaudreau would score for the Flames to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Josh Norris would score for the Sens, but goals from Mikael Backlund, Matthew Tkachuk, and Michael Stone would give the Flames the 4-1 lead. In the third period Dillon Dube and Mark Giordano would score to give the Flames the 6-1 victory.
