Devils Lose Week Due to COVID

Good evening Devils fans. Unfortunately, I wish I were reporting with better news. It was announced this evening that the New Jersey Devils have postponed games through February 6th due to ten players being exposed to the coronavirus. First and foremost, myself and everyone here at TXHT wish the New Jersey Devils players a speedy recovery and return fully healthy. This virus is no joke and must be taken seriously. Devils players that were recently identified and added to the NHL COVID protocol list are Andreas Johnsson, Travis Zajac, Janne Kuokkonen, Pavel Zacha, and Michael McLeod. Travis Zajac was held out of Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres and didn’t play Sunday either as he was already identified as being exposed to COVID-19. I certainly imagine the Sabres potentially being the next team to shut down games briefly until they know if any players or coaches were exposed to the virus. They have to do their own contact tracing and obviously testing. Also, already on the NHL’s COVID protocol list for the Devils were Kyle Palmieri, MacKenzie Blackwood, Sami Vatanen, & Connor Carrick. Obviously, this sucks and you don’t want to see any player or team exposed to this virus. Get well soon Devils!
