The Blues had a pretty light week, playing only 3 games and going 1-1-1. One game was canceled under the league’s COVID protocols as several members of the Knights coaching staff and players tested positve. We wish them all the best.
The first game, on Sunday January 24, was a pretty poorly played game against the LA Kings, where the Blues lost 6-3. After falling behind 5-1, the Blues did make a push to get it back to 5-3, but ultimately couldn’t make up that much ground. One good part of the game was Jordan Kyrou, who continued his hot start, adding 2 assists.
The second game was much better, with the Blues beating the Vegas Golden Knights 5-4 in a shootout. This game featured Alex Pietrangelo’s first game against the Blues since signing with Vegas – and it was one to be forgotten for him as he was absolutely boatraced by Jordan Kyrou on a highlight reel goal. A win is a win, but the Blues cannot be happy with blowing a 2 goal third period lead, but ultimately they got the job done.
Last night, the Blues walked in to Anaheim and overwhelemed them from the start, jumping out to a 3-0 after 2 minutes had been played. Two of those goals were scored by, who else, Jordan Kyrou. He ended the night with 2 goals and an assist, ending the week with 6 points in 3 games.
Up next is Anaheim again tonight, January 31.
