First Period:
The first period was all about the Islanders. Scott Mayfield got the scoring started, putting the Islanders up 1-0.
Andy Greene put the Islanders up two later in the period.
The period ended without any more scoring, as the Islanders took a 2-0 lead in to the second.
Second Period:
Brock Nelson, off a wonderful pass by Josh Bailey, extended the lead for the Islanders with about 8:30 left in the second.
Third Period:
The majority of the third period the Islanders would dominate the play, but with seven minutes left in the game the Flyers would pull Carter Hart for the extra attacker, and well…
The Islanders will move on to Edmonton to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning after making it to the Conference Finals for the first time since 1993.
