  • Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Matt Niskanen will have a hearing for his Cross Check on forward Brendan Gallagher of the Montreal Canadiens in Game 5 on Wednesday night per the NHL Department of Player Safety.

  • The Montreal Canadiens have announced that forward Brendan Gallagher has suffered a broken jaw and will require surgery.
    • Gallagher will miss the remainder of the Canadiens first round series against the Philadelphia Flyers.

  • After announcing that a hearing will be held, NHL DoPS has announced that Matt Niskanen has been suspended for Game 6 of the Flyers first round series against the Canadiens.

In Toronto the Islanders look to finish off their series after the Capitals avoided the sweep to force Game 5. In the first period it would be a pretty sleepy period with some questionable calls by the refs, but Anthony Beauvillier would strike on a powerplay opportunity to give the Islanders the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Beauvillier would strike again to give the Islanders the two goal lead. Then in the third period Nick Leddy and Josh Bailey would both net empty net goals to give the Islanders the 4-0 victory and eliminate the Capitals 4 games to 1.

Calgary Flames v. Dallas Stars – 1030p EST Start Time

Out west in Edmonton the Stars look to extinguish the Flames who are looking to force a decisive Game 7. In the first period the Flames would start off hot as Andrew Mangiapane, Jonathan Gaudreau ((PPG), and Rasmus Andersson would score in the first seven minutes of the game for the commanding 3-0 lead, but due to an ill advised penalty by Milan Lucic, Miro Heiskanen would score to get the Stars on the board and cut the Flames lead down to two. Come the second period things would get wild as the Stars would erupt for four more goals as Denis Gurianov would net a pair of goals and Radek Faksa and Joe Pavelski would net the other two as the Stars took the 5-3 lead. Then with less than five minutes left in the second Gurianov would complete the hat trick to give the Stars the three goal lead. Then in the third period Gurianov would net his fourth of the game to give the Stars the 7-3 victory as they eliminated the Flames 4 games to 2.
