Out west in Edmonton the Stars look to extinguish the Flames who are looking to force a decisive Game 7. In the first period the Flames would start off hot as Andrew Mangiapane, Jonathan Gaudreau ((PPG), and Rasmus Andersson would score in the first seven minutes of the game for the commanding 3-0 lead, but due to an ill advised penalty by Milan Lucic, Miro Heiskanen would score to get the Stars on the board and cut the Flames lead down to two.
Come the second period things would get wild as the Stars would erupt for four more goals as Denis Gurianov would net a pair of goals and Radek Faksa and Joe Pavelski would net the other two as the Stars took the 5-3 lead. Then with less than five minutes left in the second Gurianov would complete the hat trick to give the Stars the three goal lead. Then in the third period Gurianov would net his fourth of the game to give the Stars the 7-3 victory as they eliminated the Flames 4 games to 2.
