NWHL News – A Toronto Signing Spree

Today in the NWHL Toronto added a total of players for their inaugural season.

 

Grant-Mentis Signs with Toronto

  • Toronto announced today that they have signed forward Mikyla Grant-Mentis for the 2020-21 season.

  • Grant-Mentis, who finished the 2019-20 season with Buffalo, is the all time points (117) and assists (61) leader at Merrimack.
  • In four games with the Beauts, Grant-Mentis would earn VEDA Player of the Week honors and record a goal and an assist in the playoffs.

 

Toronto Add Four More

  • Toronto also announced the signings of goaltender Samantha Ridgewell, and forwards Jenna McParland, Amy Curlew, and Natalie Marcuzzi.

  • Ridgewell was the number one goalie for Djurgardens IF of the SDHL, and recorded a 2.03 GAA and a .920 save percentage in 22 games played.
  • McParland is a 2018 Clarkson Cup winner with the Markham Thunder and is an all zone forward threat.
  • Curlew was the eighth overall pick in the 2020 draft, and was a standout forward at Cornell.
  • Marcuzzi was selected in the fourth round of the 2020 draft, and guided RMU to three straight regular season titles.
