NHL Three Stars of the Week for Mar. 2nd – 8th

Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of March 2nd through 8th.

 

First Star – Mika Zibanejad (C, New York Rangers)

  • Zibanejad would lead the League with seven goals in three games played for the Rangers. On March 3rd he would net a goal against St. Louis, but then on March 5th Zibanejad would net five goals against Washington in a wild 6-5 overtime win. Then to close out the week Zibanejad would net one more goal against New Jersey on March 7th.

Second Star – Gabriel Landeskog (LW, Colorado Avalanche)

  • Landeskog lead the NHL with nine points (3g, 6a) in four games played for the Avalanche. Landeskog would start the week with an assist on March 2nd against Detroit, then on March 4th he would record three points (1g, 2a) against Anaheim. On March 6th against Vancouver he would record a goal and an assist, and to close out the week on Match 8th against San Jose Landeskog would record a goal and two assists for another three point game.

Third Star – Leon Draisaitl (C, Edmonton Oilers)

  • Draisaitl would record four goals and four assists for eight points in four games to lead the Oilers. On March 2nd Draisaitl would record four goals and an assist for a five point game against Nashville. Then on March 3rd against Dallas he would record an assist, and on March 5th would record two assists against Chicago.
