Game Recaps:
Vegas Golden Knights v. Dallas Stars – 8p EST Start Time
In Dallas the Vegas Golden Knights would look to dim the Stars, but it would be Dallas striking first during the first period as Taylor Fedun would net his second of the season for the 1-0 lead. However, in the second period William Karlsson would net his tenth of the season, and the recently acquired Chandler Stephenson would net his fifth of the season to give the Knights the 2-1 lead. In the third period Jamie Benn would score his seventh of the season to tie the game at two, and send the game to overtime, but it would be Max Pacioretty and his 13th of the season to secure the victory for the Golden Knights 3-2 in overtime.
New Jersey Devils v. Colorado Avalanche – 9p EST Start Time
The New Jersey Devils would come to Colorado to outlast the Avalanche, but they would do it without all star Taylor Hall. In the first period the Avalanche would strike on the powerplay as Gabriel Landeskog would score his sixth of the season to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Valeri Nichushkin would net his sixth of the season to take the two goal lead. In the third period the Devils would strike with a Mirco Mueller tally, and his first of the season, to cut the Avalanche’s lead to one, but the Avalanche would respond with Nathan MacKinnon’s 20th of the season to secure the 3-1 victory.
