News:
- The Calgary Flames announced that assistant coach Geoff Ward will be taking over head coaching duties against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday while the organization conducts an investigation on accusations against head coach Bill Peters.
- The NHL Department Player of Safety has announced that Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Erik Cernak has been suspended for two games for elbowing Buffalo defenseman Rasmus Dahlin in the head. Per the CBA, Cernak will forfeit $7,500.00 based on his average annual salary.
- The Los Angeles Kings announced that defenseman Alec Martinez underwent successful surgery to repair a radial artery and two superficial radial nerves, and will be evaluated weekly. Martinez is expected to make a full recovery.

Boston Bruins v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p EST Start Time
In Montreal the Boston Bruins would dominate the Canadiens. In the first period the Bruins would get goals from Jake Debrusk and David Pastrnak on the powerplay, and an additional goal from Brad Marchand. Shea Weber would score for the Canadiens, but the Bruins would take the 3-1 lead into the first intermission. Theni nthe second period Pastrnak would score two more goals to complete the hat trick, and Anders Bjork would score to give the Bruins the 6-1 lead after 40 minutes of play. Then in the third period Charlie Coyle and Danton Heinen would score to give the Bruins the 8-1 victory.
Minnesota Wild v. New Jersey Devils – 7p EST Start Time

Dallas Stars v. Chicago Blackhawks – 8p EST Start Time
In Chicago the Blackhawks would play host to the Dallas Stars, and in the first period Brandon Saad would score the lone goal of the period to give the Blackhawks the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, th Blackhawks would get goals from Patrick Kane (PPG) and Connor Murphy to secure the 3-0 victory.
