Game Recap – 11/27/2019 – Florida Panthers v. Washington Capitals

Game Recap:

On Thanksgiving Eve the Washington Capitals played host to the Florida Panthers. In the first period the Capitals would get hit with two early penalties that they would kill. Then Alex Ovechkin would strike first first for the Capitals late in the period to give the Capitals the 1-0 lead.

 

Then in the second period things would heat up as former Capital Brett Connolly would score to tie the game at one. Then with a minute left in the period Richard Panik would score his second of the season to retake the lead, but Mike Hoffman would score 22 seconds later to tie the game once again as both teams enters the second intermission tied at two a piece.

 

In the third period the Capitals would strike early as Lars Eller would tap one in for his sixth of the season and the 3-2 lead. Then Brendan Leipsic would tally his third of the season to give the Capitals a two goal lead, but the Panthers would strike once more as Vincent Trocheck would score in the final five minutes of regulation, but the Capitals would hang on to win 4-3 over their former Southeast Division rivals.
