- The Washington Capitals announced that assistant coach Kirk Muller will not be returning to the team when his contract expires in June.
- Muller was responsible for the Capitals forwards and powerplay.
- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have fined Boston Bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov.
- Zadorov would be fined $5,000 for cross checking Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin on Sunday, April 26th.
- The fine is the maximum allowed per the CBA.
- The Nashville Predators announced that they have signed forward Vitali Pinchuk.
- Pinchuk would sign a one year entry level contract for the 2026-27 season.
- In the PWHL, the Player of the Week award went to Ottawa Charge G Gwyneth Philips.
- Philips recorded a 41 dave shutout against the Toronto Sceptres to clinch a playoff spot for the Charge on her way to the Player of the Week honours.
- Philips also recorded two victories with a 0.47 GAA in the two games she played last week.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET – Game 5
- In Pittsburgh, the Penguins look to come within a game in the series against the Flyers, and in the first Elmer Soderblom scored his first career NHL postseason goal to put the Pens up 1-0. In the second, Pittsburgh took the 2-0 lead when Connor Dewar netted his second of the playoffs but then Philadelphia got on the board when Alex Bump scored his first career NHL playoff goal. Then, Travis Sanheim scored his second of the postseason to even the score for Philly but then the Penguins re-took the lead with Kris Letang’s second of the postseason. With a scoreless third period, the Penguins held on to defeat the Flyers 3-2 to hold on in the series.
