News

  • The NHL announced that they have named New York Islanders defenseman Matthew Schaefer First Star of the Week.
    • Arturs Silovs (PIT) and Matt Boldy (MIN) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.

  • In the PWHL, it was announced that Ann-Renée Desbiens was named the Player of the Week.
    • Desbines recorded her fourth shutout of the season, tying the PWHL single-season record.
    • Desbines also notched two victories with a 0.50 GAA and a .986 save percentage

  • The Edmonton Oilers acquired D Connor Murphy from the Chicago Blackhawks for a second round pick in the 2028 NHL Entry Draft.
    • Chicago will retain 50% of Murphy’s $4.4 million in salary

Detroit Red Wings v. Nashville Predators – 2p ET

  • In a rare matinee contest in Nashville, the Predators hosted the Red Wings.  In the first, Emmitt Finnie scored his 10th of the year to put Detroit up 1-0 but then Filip Forsberg scored his 26th of the year on a Nashville power play to tie the game.  In the second, Nashville took the 2-1 lead with Jonathan Marchessault’s 11th of the eyar but then Detroit tied the game when Lucas Raymond scored his 20th of the year.  Then, the Red Wings took the 3-2 lead when Albert Johansson scored a shorthanded goal, his second goal of the year.  In the third, the Red Wings get a late goal when Alex DeBrincat scored his 31st of the year as the Red Wings doubled up the Predators 4-2.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

  • In New York, the Rangers hosted the Blue Jackets for the lone time this season and in the first Columbus went up 1-0 as Adam Fantilli scored his 16th of the year adn then Kirill Marchenko scored his 21st on the power play as Columbus went up 2-0.  In the second, Sean Monahan scored his 11th as the Blue Jackets went up 3-0.  In the third, New York got on the board when Vladislav Gavrikov netted his 10th and then the Blueshirts got within two when Gabe Perreault scored his fourth of the season.  Then, Will Borgen scored a power play goal, his fourth goal on the year, to bring New York within a goal and then Gabe Perreault scored his second of the night to tie the game.  In overtime, Kirill Marchenko scored his second of the night as the Blue Jackets defeated the Rangers 5-4.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 730p ET

  • In Toronto, the Maple Leafs hosted the Flyers and in the first Toronto went up 1-0 with Dakota Joshua’s seventh but then Christian Dvorak scored his 13th of the year on the Philadelphia power play to tie the game.  After a scoreless second, the Flyers took lead as Noah Cates netted his 12th of the year but then William Nylander tied the game for Toronto with his 20th of the year on the man-advantage.  Following the scoreless overtime
