- The PHF announced their 2023 PHF MVP and 2023 PHF Most Outstanding Player.
- Boston Pride forward Loren Gabel would be announced as the winner of both awards.
Game Recaps
- Carolina Hurricanes v. New York Islanders – 7p ET – Game 6
- On Long Island the Carolina Hurricanes would get another chance to close out their series with the New York Islanders, and in the first period Cal Clutterbuck would strike to get the Isles on the board first and take the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period Sebastian Aho would score for the Canes to tie the game at one and force overtime. In the extra frame it would be Paul Stastny with the winner six minutes in as the Hurricanes would eliminate the Islanders with the 2-1 overtime victory for the 4-2 series win.
- Boston Bruins v. Florida Panthers – 730p ET – Game 6
- In Florida the Panthers would look to stay alive once again as they host the Boston Bruins for Game 6, and in the first period Tyler Bertuzzi would score for the B’s, but goals from Brandon Montour and Matthew Tkachuk would give the Panthers the 2-1 lead. In the second period David Pastrnak would score for the B’s to tie the game at two, but Aleksander Barkov would score to retake the lead for the Panthers. Then in the third period it would get wild as both Bertuzzi and Pastrnak would net their second goals of the game and Jake DeBrusk would strike shorthanded for the B’s, but goals from Zac Dalpe, Tkachuk, Eetu Luostarinen, and Sam Reinhart would give the Panthers the 7-5 victory to tie the series at three and force Game 7 for Sunday.
- Dallas Stars v. Minnesota Wild – 930p ET – Game 6
- In Minnesota the Dallas Stars would come to town to finish off the Wild to advance to the second round, and in the first period Roope Hintz would strike to give the Stars the 1-0 lead. In the second period Wyatt Johnston would net his first career Stanley Cup playoff goal and Mason Marchment would score to grow the Stars lead to three. Then in the third period Frederick Gaudreau would strike for the Wild to get on the board, but Max Domi would score to give the Stars the 4-1 victory over the Wild to take the series 4-2 to advance to the second round.
- Colorado Avalanche v. Seattle Kraken – 10p ET – Game 6
- In Seattle the Kraken would look to eliminate the defending Stanley Cup champion Colorado Avalanche for their first series win in franchise history, and in the first period Vince Dunn would score to get the Kraken on the board first, but Mikko Rantanen would score to tie the game at one for the Avs. In the second period Erik Johnson and Artturi Lehkonen would strike to give the Avs the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period Lehkonen would net his second of the game to give the Avalanche the 4-1 victory over the Kraken to force Game 7 on Sunday.
