- The Washington Capitals announced that they have signed defenseman Hardy Haman Aktell.
- The defender signed a one year, two way entry level contract that’ll carry an AAV of $775,000 when on the NHL club.

- Tampa Bay Lightning v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET – Game 5
- In Toronto, the Maple Leafs look to advance to the second round while the Lightning look to stay alive. In the first, Toronto takes the 1-0 lead when Morgan Rielly nets his third but Tampa Bay ties it up when Anthony Cirelli scores his third. In the second, Michael Eyssimont nets his first to put the Bolts up 2-1. In the third, Nicolas Roy scores his first to give Tampa the two goal lead but then the Leafs come within a goal when Auston Matthews scores his fourth. Alex Killorn then closes the game out with his third as the Lightning get the 4-2 win over the Maple Leafs and come within a game of tying up the series.
- New York Rangers v. New Jersey Devils – 730p ET – Game 5
- In New Jersey, both the Devils and the Rangers look to take the 3-2 series lead and in the first New Jersey takes the 1-0 lead when Ondrej Palat nets his second of the year. In the second, Erik Haula nets his second and then Dawson Mercer scores his first as the Devs take the 3-0 lead. In the third, Erik Haula nets his second of the game as the Devils shutout the Rangers for the 4-0 win and take the 3-2 series lead.

- Winnipeg Jets v. Vegas Golden Knights – 10p ET – Game 5
- In Vegas, the Golden Knights look to close out the series while Winnipeg looks to extend their season for at least one more game. In the first, Chandler Stephenson nets his third to give Vegas the 1-0 lead. In the second, Mark Stone scores his third, William Karlsson scores his fourth, and Stephenson scores his second of the night as Vegas takes the 4-0 lead. In the third, Winnipeg gets on the board when Kyle Connor scores his third of the postseason. However, the Golden Knights get the 4-1 win over the Jets and advance to the second round with the 4-1 series win.
