Friday, March 3rd, 2023

Game #1 – Minnesota Whitecaps v. Boston Pride

  • In Boston the Pride would play host to the Minnesota Whitecaps, and in the first period Natalie Snodgrass would score to give the Whitecaps the 1-0 lead. In the second period Sydney Brodt would strike for the Whitecaps, but goals from Jillian Dempsey and Christina Putigna would tie the game at two for the Pride. Then in the third peirod Allie Thunstrom and McKenna Brand would score for the Pride, but goals from Liz Schelpers and Sydney Baldwin would tie the game at four for the Whitecaps. After a scoreless overtime period it would be Loren Gabel in the shootout to give the Pride the 5-4 victory over the Whitecaps.

Saturday, March 4th, 2023

Game #1 – Minnesota Whitecaps v. Boston Pride

  • Back in Boston for the second game of their weekend series the Pride would play host to the Minnesota Whitecaps, and in the first period Aneta Tejralova would score to give the Pride the 1-0 lead. In the second period Taylor House and Jillian Dempsey would score to grow the Pride’s lead to three. Then in the third period Jonna Albers would score for the Whitecaps, but goals from Allie Thunstrom and Christina Putigna would give the Pride the 5-1 victory over the Whitecaps.

Game #2 – Montreal Force v. Metropolitan Riveters

  • In New Jersey the Metropolitan Riveters would play host to the Montreal Force for the first time, and in the first period Ebba Berglund would score for the Rivs to take the 1-0 lead. In the second period Kristina Shanahan would strike for the Force to tie the game at one. Then after a scoreless third period Sarah Bujold would score to give the Riveters the 2-1 victory over the Force.

Game #3 – Connecticut Whale v. Buffalo Beauts

  • In Buffalo the Beauts would play host to the Connecticut Whale, and after a scoreless first period Justine Reyes would score to give the Whale the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period Claudia Kepler would score to tie the game at one for the Beauts to force overtime. In the extra frame Kennedy Marchment would score to give the Whale the 2-1 victory over the Beauts.

Sunday, March 5th, 2023

Game #1 – Connecticut Whale v. Buffalo Beauts

  • In Buffalo the Beauts would play host to the Connecticut Whale for the second game of their weekend series, and after a scoreless first period Claudia Kepler would strike for the Beauts, but goals from Tori Howran and Melissa Samoskevich would give the Whale the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Summer-Rae Dobson would score for the Beauts, but goals from Caitrin Lonergan and Emma Keenan would give the Whale the 4-2 victory over the Beauts.

Game #2 – Montreal Force v. Metropolitan Riveters

  • In New Jersey the Metropolitan Riveters would host Eli Manning and his daughters as they take on the Montreal Force, and in the first period Sarah Lefort would score to give the Force the 1-0 lead. In the second period Madison Packer and Minttu Tuominen would score to give the Rivs the 2-1 lead, but Catherine Dubois would score to tie the game at two for the Force. Then in the third period Dubois would net her second of the game for the Force, but Kendall Cornine and Sarah Bujold would score to give the Riveters the 4-3 victory over the Force.

News and Notes

  • The PHF announced that Boston Pride forward Loren Gabel was named Player of the Month for February.
    • In five games played Gabel would record five goals and six assists for 11 points.

3 Stars of the Week

First Star – Kennedy Marchment (CTW)

  • Kennedy Marchment would continue to shine for the Connecticut Whale as she would record two goals and two assists in two games played which would extend her point streak to a record 16 straight games.

Second Star – Sarah Bujold (MET)

  • Sarah Bujold would record two goals and an assist for the Metropolitan Riveters in two games played which would see Bujold score both game winning goals for the Rivs.

Third Star – Jillian Dempsey (BOS)

  • Jillian Dempsey would also score two goals and an assist in two games played for the Boston Pride as she aided them in reclaiming first place in the PHF Standings.
