Today the National Hockey League has announced the Rookie of the Month for the month of December 2022.
Pyotr Kochetkov (G – CAR)
- Pytor Kochetkov would go 7-0-1 with a 1.63 goals against average and .939 save percentage along with two shutouts for the Carolina Hurricanes in eight games played.
- Kochetkov would edge out forwards Matias Maccelli (ARI), Mason McTavish (ANA), and Wyatt Johnston (DAL) as well as fellow netminders Stuart Skinner (EDM) and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (BUF) for the honor.
- Kochetkov would allow two or fewer goals in seven of his eight games played.
