- The Washington Capitals announced that forward Beck Malenstyn will miss 6-8 weeks after having surgery on his left hand to fix a fractured finger.

- Columbus Blue Jackets v. Colorado Avalanche – 2p ET – Global Series in Tampere, Finland
- In Tampere, Finland for the second round of Global Series games the Colorado Avalanche would play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in the first period Logan Connor and JT Compher would score to give the Avs the 2-0 lead. In the second period Jakub Voracek and Patrik Laine would strike to get the Jackets on the board, but an early Mikko Rantanen tally would keep the Avs ahead by one. Then in the third period Sean Kuraly would score for the Jackets, but Rantanen would net a pair of goals to complete the hat trick and Cale Makar would score his first of the season to give the Avalanche the 6-3 victory over the Blue Jackets.

- Buffalo Sabres v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p ET
- In Carolina the Hurricanes would play host to the Buffalo Sabres, and in the first period both teams would trade a pair of goals as Jacob Bryson and Victor Olofsson would score for the Sabres while Sebastian Aho would net a pair of goals for the Canes for the 2-2 tie. In the second period Martin Necas would score to give the Canes the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period Rasmus Dahlin would score for the Sabres, but Jesper Kotkaniemi would score and Aho would complete the hat trick to give the Hurricanes the 5-3 victory over the Sabres.
