Today the National Hockey League has announced the Rookie of the Month for the month of October 2022.
Shane Pinto (C – OTT)
- Pinto would lead all rookies with six goals and one assist for seven points in eight games played for the Ottawa Senators.
- Pinto would score in five consecutive games which would set a franchise record for longest goal streak for a rookie with the Senators. Two of Pinto’s goals during this goal streak would also be game winners.
- Pinto would edge out fellow forwards Matty Beniers (SEA), Kent Johnson (CLB), and Cole Perfetti (WIN, as well as defenseman Calen Addison (MIN and goaltender Logan Thompson (VGK to earn the Rookie of the Month honor.
