- Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jason Spezza announced his retirement.
- Spezza played 19 seasons in the NHL, and would record 995 points (363g and 632a) in 1,248 career games.
- Along with the Maple Leafs Spezza would also play for the Dallas Stars and Ottawa Senators.
- Spezza will take a role in the Leafs front office as Special Assitant to General Manager Kyle Dubas.
