Canadiens Weekly – That Was…Better?

Hello once again Ladies and Gentleman. Welcome to a new edition of the Montreal Canadiens weekly updates.

The Canadiens went 1-1-0 this week in the games that were played.

On top of the news of Dominique Ducharme being relieved of his duties on February 9, the Canadiens would hire Martin St. Louis as the interim head coach as well as bringing on Vincent Lecavalier as the special advisor to hockey operations. In addition to the Lecavalier hire, Montreal would also bring on Nick Bobrov as the co-director of amateur scouting to work with Martin Lapointe as the Director of Player Development.

Also in Canadiens news, Montreal traded Tyler Tofolli to the Calgary Flames in exchange for Tyler Pitlick, prospect Emil Heineman, a first round pick in the 2022 NHL Draft and a fifth-round pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. The condition for the first round pick is if that pick is the top 10, Calgary has the option of sending Montreal their first round pick in the ’23 Draft and a ’24 fourth round pick instead.

Now with the news of the week out of the way, let’s get onto the recap of the week’s game.
