  • The NHL announced that Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog as the First Star of the Week.
    • Juuse Saros (NAS) and Tomas Hertl (SJ) would round out the Three Stars.
  • NHL Stars of the Week – Landeskog Rocking Top Honors

  • The NHL fined Dallas Stars head coach Rick Bowness.
    • Bowness was fined $25,000 for his actions behind the bench in St. Louis on Sunday night.

Game Recaps

  • Tampa Bay Lightning v. New Jersey Devils – Postponed
    • Postponed due to COVID-19
  • Boston Bruins v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET
    • In Washington the Capitals would play host to the Boston Bruins, and in the first period the Caps would start out hot as Conor Sheary would net a pair of goals for the 2-0 lead, but then the B’s would take over as David Pastrnak and Brad Marchand would net back to back powerplay goals to tie the game at two. In the second period Matt Grzelcyk, Craig Smith, Pastrnak, and Erik Haula would score to give the B’s a dominating 6-2 lead, but TJ Oshie would strike to get the Caps back within three. Then in the third period Marchand would net his second of the game to give the Bruins the 7-4 victory over the Capitals.

  • Seattle Kraken v. Colorado Avalanche – 9p ET
    • In Colorado the Avalanche would host the Seattle Kraken, and in the first period both teams would trade goals as Nicolas Aube-Kubel would score the Avs and Marcus Johansson would score for the Kraken for a 1-1 tie. In the second period Aube-Kubel would net his second for the Avs, but goals from Jared McCann and Colin Blackwell would give the Kraken the 3-2 lead. In the third, Devon Toews scores his seventh of the year to tie the game for Colorado and then Nazem Kadri nets the game winner, his 13th goal of the year, to give the Avalanche the 4-3 win over the Kraken.

  • Ottawa Senators v. Edmonton Oilers – Postponed
    • Game Postponed due to COVID-19
    • Game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Jan.15th at 10p ET

  • New York Rangers v. Los Angeles Kings – 1030p ET
    • In the City of Anglels, the Rangers drop in for their annual season trip to Los Angeles. After a scoreless first period, the Kings get a pair of goals from Phillip Danault, his seventh, and Blake Lizotte, his fourth, to make it a 2-0 Los Angeles lead. In the third, New York gets on the board when Mika Zibanejad nets his 13th of the year but the Kings seal the win after Adrian Kempe scores his 16th of the year as Los Angeles gets the 3-1 win over the New York Rangers.
