News

• The NHL and NHLPA announced that they have agreed to temporary changes to the CBA.
  • Taxi Squads will return up until the All Star Break.
    • Clubs will be permitted to assign a maximum of six players to the Taxi Squad.
  • The CBA modifications will run through the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
    • There were three modifications done for the remainder of this season which involves Roster Emergency Exceptions, Goaltenders, and in the case that a Club has less than 12 forwards or 6 defenseman on their active roster due to players being on the COVID-19 Protocol.

• The NHL also postponed three more games when announcing the agreement.

• The Washington Capitals made a series of moves.
  • The Caps recalled goaltender Pheonix Copley and defenseman Michal Kempny.
  • The Caps assigned defenseman Lucas Johansen and Alex Alexeyev, and forward Brett Leason to the Taxi Squad.

• Later in the day the NHL announced the postponement of three more games.

• The Seattle Kraken announced that forward Brandon Tanev would miss the rest of the season.
  • Tanev suffered a season ending ACL injury on Dec. 18th against Edmonton.
