Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of December 6th through 12th.
First Star – Thatcher Demko (G – VAN)
- Demko would go a perfect 4-0-0 under new head coach Bruce Boudreau which would also see him post a 1.20 goals against average, a .962 save percentage, and one shutout for the Vancouver Canucks. Demko would open the week with a 31 save 4-0 shutout victory over Los Angeles on Dec. 6th, and then on Dec. 8 he would make 35 saves in a 2-1 win over Boston. Then on Dec. 10th against Winnipeg he would make 34 saves in a 4-3 shoutout victory. To close out the week Demko would make 28 saves in a 2-1 victory over Carolina on Dec. 12th.

Second Star – Sebastian Aho (C – CAR)
- In three games played for the Carolina Hurricanes, Aho would record multiple points in every game as he would record five goals and two assists for seven points on the week. Aho would open up the week with a goal and an assist in a 4-2 victory over Winnipeg on Dec. 7th, and then on Dec. 9th he would score both goals in a 2-1 overtime victory over Calgary. To close out the week Aho would score two goals and an assist in a 3-1 victory over Edmonton.

Third Star – Devon Toews (D – COL)
- Toews would lead the League with seven assists for the week in four games played for the Colorado Avalanche. Toews would open the week with two assists in a 7-5 victory over Philadelphia on Dec. 6th, and then again on Dec. 7th in a 7-3 victory over the New York Rangers. Then on Dec. 10th he would record three assists in a 7-3 victory over Detroit. Toews would be held pointless on Dec. 12th by Florida in a 3-2 victory tp close out the week.
