NHL Stars of the Week – Huberdeau Leaps to Top Honors

Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of November 29th through December 5th.

First Star – Jonathan Huberdeau (LW – FLA)

  • Huberdeau would lead the League with eight assists and nine points as he would play in three games for the Florida Panthers. Huberdeau would open the week with three assists in a 5-4 victory over Washington on Nov. 30th, and then on Dec. 2nd against Buffalo he would record a goal and four assists in a 7-4 victory. To close out the week Huberdeau would record an assist in a 4-3 shootout victory over St. Louis on Dec. 4th.

Second Star – Victor Hedman (D – TB)

  • Hedman would record two goals and six assists for eight points in four games played for the Tampa Bay Lightning. To open the week Hedman would record tow goals and two assists for four points in a home and home series against St. Louis on Nov. 30th and Dec. 2nd. Then on Dec. 4th Hedman would record an assist in a 3-2 victory over Boston, and then to close out the week on Dec. 5th with a three assist performance in a 7-1 victory over Philadelphia.

Third Star – Jake Guentzel (LW – PIT)

  • Guentzel would lead the League with five goals for the week as he would play in three games for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Guentzel would open the week with a goal in the Pens 2-1 shootout loss to Calgary on Nov. 29th. Then on Dec. 1st he would tally a goal in a 5-2 loss to Edmonton, and to close out the week Guentzel would record a hatricka nd an assist in the Penguins 4-1 victory over Vancouver on Dec. 4th.
