In Tampa Bay the Washington Capitals would begin the month of November against Lightning. In the first period the Caps would strike 73 seconds into the game as Brett Leason would score his first career NHL goal to give the Caps the 1-0 lead. However, in the second period the Lightning would strike twice as Alex Killorn and Anthony Cirelli would score to give Tampa the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Brayden Point would score in the opening minutes of the period to grow the Lightning’s lead to two. Conor Sheary would strike on the powerplay midway through the period, but the Lightning would shut down the Caps to take the 3-2 victory, and hand the Capitals their first regulation loss of the season.
