A third nugget of NWHL news today, as free agent defender Lenka Curmova will join the Riveters for Season 7.
The defender, who hails from Slovakia brings plenty of playing experience to the Riveters roster. She’s played in Slovakia for 2 different teams, the ZHK Sarisanka Presov for 7 seasons, and the SKP Bratislava for 6 seasons. She boasts international playing experience, having played for Team Slovakia, where she also shows her leadership qualities, having been named alternate captain and captain of Team Slovakia for the World Championships.
She then took her talents to the NWHL, where she spent 2 seasons with the Buffalo Beauts. During her rookie year, she played in 23 games, amassing 3 goals and adding 8 assists for 11 points on the year. During her sophomore campaign, she played in 6 games, tallying 1 assists on the year, before it was cut short. She then played for 2 games with HPK of the Naisten Liiga where she added 1 assist in those 2 games.
She returns to the NWHL for her third season, and her first with the Riveters.
