BEAUTS RE-SIGN VETERAN FORWARD TAYLOR WASYLK

Buffalo, NY- The Buffalo Beauts announced today an important re-signing to their roster. Veteran forward Taylor Wasylk will return for her second straight season with the team and her fourth in the NWHL. A late addition to the Beauts roster for Lake Placid in 2020-21, Wasylk is looking forward to being back with the team for a much more regular duration.

“I could not be more excited to re-sign with the Buffalo Beauts,” she said. “I hold so much respect for the players, coaches and management that make up this team and organization as a whole. I had an incredible first experience with the team in Lake Placid in January and I am looking forward to carrying that into the 2021-2022 season.”

In nine career NWHL games spent between the Beauts and the Boston Pride, Wasylk has recorded four assists. Her first professional season came in 2017-18 when she suited up for the CWHL’s Boston Blades and went 3-2-5 for scoring in 12 regular season games. Wasylk would join the NWHL’s Boston Pride in 2018-19 and has remained in the league ever since.

Collegiately and internationally, Wasylk has been a standout player. She played 145 NCAA games for the Boston College Eagles. During that time she never scored less than 19 points in a season, and finished her career having scored 48 goals, 48 assists and 96 points. On the international stage, Wasylk earned a gold medal (2009) and silver (2010) for the United States’ Women’s U18 squad. Additionally, she earned a silver medal with the USA Women’s National Team in 2012.

Off the ice, Wasylk is the head coach for Suffolk University women’s hockey team.

“TayWas will be integral to our team’s success this season,” said Beauts General Manager Nate Oliver. “Not only is she a highly accomplished hockey player with a great deal of talent, but her veteran presence will be invaluable for our younger players. Factor in her coaching career, and there really isn’t much that Taylor hasn’t experienced or done in hockey. On the ice, she is very physical and hard-nosed. Off the ice, she is one of the finest mentors I have ever met.”

Wasylk is very much looking forward to her role within the Beauts.

“I look forward to meeting and getting to work with some of the Beauts younger players beginning in October,” she said. “I am hopeful that my prior experience in the league and my years spent as a collegiate coach will help me provide support and encouragement to some of our new players. Motivation, respect, and hard work are some of the most important aspects of being a good teammate and I plan to utilize them all in an effort to create a positive team culture and bring us success on the ice.”
