Isles Tie Up The Series

The Penguins and the Islanders squared off for the fourth time this series before it heads back to Pittsburgh. Here is how the two teams would line up:

There was no scoring in the first period, as both teams would trade chances back and forth. Ilya Sorokin and Tristin Jarry would have all the answers and stifle both the offenses. It would take until the second period before the game would get the first score. The Islanders nabbed the first goal of the game, the goal coming from Josh Bailey. The assists on the play came from Brock Nelson and Anthony Beauvillier.

Six minutes later, the Islanders would double their lead, the goal coming from Ryan Pulock, and the assists on the play came from Oliver Wahlstrom and Nick Leddy. The Islanders would take a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.

Early on in the third period, the Islanders would nab an insurance marker, via the power play. The unassisted goal coming from Oliver Wahlstrom.

24 seconds later, also on an Islanders power play, Jordan Eberle would put the puck in the back of the net. The assists on the play came from Matt Barzal and JG Pageau. This gave the Islanders a 4-0 lead.

Before the end of the game, the Penguins got a consolation goal to end the Sorokin shutout bid. The goal comes from Zach Aston-Reese, the assists on the play came from Brian Dumoulin and Frederick Gaudreau. The series returns to Pittsburgh tied at 2 games a piece.
