NHL Stars of the Week – McDavid Scores His Way to Top Honors

Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of May 3rd through 9th.

First Stars – Connor McDavid (C – EDM) and Aleem Rajani (Alberta Health Services)

  • McDavid would reach the 100 point plateau in 53 games played this season. For the week to get him to 100 he would produce three goals and ten assists for 13 points in four games played. In all four games the Oilers would face the Vancouver Canucks McDavid would produce at minimum two points per game to achieve not only 100 points, but also 30 goals for the season.

Second Star – Kirill Kaprizov (LW – MIN)

  • Kaprizov would continue his impressive rookie campaign as he would produce four goals and four assists for 8 points in four games played for the Wild. He would record three goals and one assist in a pair of games with the Golden Knights, and then against the Ducks Kaprizov would record a goal and three assists to close out the week.

Third Star – Marc-Andre Fleury (G – VGK)

  • Fleury would become the third most winningest goaltender in NHL history as he would go 2-0-0 with a 1.48 GAA, and a .939 save percentage for the Knights. Fleury would surpass Roberto Luongo for third all time when he would guide Vegas to a 3-2 overtime win over Minnesota on May 5th.
