  • The Buffalo Sabres relieved head coach Ralph Krueger of his duties.
    • Assistant coach Steve Smith was also fired along with Krueger.
    • Don Granato will take over as interim head coach.
      • Matt Ellis and Dan Girardi both will serve as assistant coaches under Granato.

  • Per General Manager Lou Lamoriello, New York Islanders forward Anders Lee will miss the remainder of the 2021 season due to surgery that will take place this week.

  • The NHL Department of Player Safety suspended defenseman Carson Soucy of the Minnesota Wild for one game.
    • Soucy would get the one game ban for charging Arizona Coyotes forward Conor Garland on Tuesday night in Minnesota.
    • Soucy will forfeit $23,706.90 in salary per the terms of the CBA.

  • Vancouver Canucks v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET
    • In Ottawa the Senators would take on the Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period it would be all Vancouver as they would get goals from Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat to take the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Ryan Dzingel would score to bring the Sens back within one. In the third period Josh Norris would net his seventh of the season to tie the game at two and send the game to overtime, but after the extra five minutes it would be Adam Gaudette with the shootout winner to give the Canucks the 3-2 victory.

  • Philadelphia Flyers v. New York Rangers – 7:30p ET
    • At Madison Square Garden it would be a brutal one for the Philadelphia Flyers as they took on the New York Rangers. In the first period Brendan Lemieux and Artemi Panarin would score for the Rangers to take a 2-0 lead. Then in the third period Pavel Buchnevich would net a pair of goals, Mika Zibanejad would record the hat trick, and Jacob Trouba and Filip Chytil would both score as the Rangers would runaway with the 9-0 victory.

  • Montreal Canadiens v. Winnipeg Jets – 9p ET
    • In Winnipeg the Jets would host the Montreal Canadiens, and in the first period Blake Wheeler and Kyle Connor would tally to give the Jets the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Phillip Danault would score for the Habs, but Connor’s second of the game would give the Jets their two goal lead back. In the third, Brendan Gallagher gets his 11th goal of the season to bring the Habs within a goal. Tyler Toffoli gets his 18th gola of the season to tie the game 3-3. In the overtime frame, Winnipeg wins the game when Nikolaj Ehlers gets his 15th goal of the season.

  • San Jose Sharks v. Vegas Golden Knights – 10p ET
    • In Vegas, the Sharks look to take a bite out of the Golden Knights and in the first, Vegas strikes first when Shea Theodore gets his fifth goal of the season. In the second, San Jose ties the game when Matt Nieto nets his fifth goal of the season. San Jose takes the 2-1 lead when Mario Ferraro nets his first goal of the season. Kevin Labanc gets his eighth goal of the season as the Sharks take the two goal lead over Vegas. In the third, Cody Glass and Nicolas Hague both score to tie the game 3-3. Vegas takes the 4-3 lead when Ryan Reaves gets his first goal of the season at 12:27. Alec Martinez nets his third goal of the season at 14:46 to give the Golden Knights the 5-3 lead. Evander Kane nets his 12th goal of the season to bring the Sharks within a goal but the Golden Knights down San Jose 5-4.

  • St. Louis Blues v. Los Angeles Kings – 10p ET
    • In the City of Angels, the Kings look to down the Blues and in the first period, Los Angeles nets three unanswered goals when Drew Doughty, Carl Gundstrom, and Trevor Moore all score. In the second period, Mike Hoffman gets the Blues on the board with his eighth goal of the season. In the third, Los Angeles takes the three goal lead when Anze Kopitar gets his eighth goal of the season at 18:20. The Kings breeze by the Blues as they get the 4-1 victory.

  • Edmonton Oilers v. Calgary Flames – 10p ET
    • In the Saddledome for Chapter VI of the Battle of Alberta on the season, the Oilers look douse the Flames and in the first period, Edmonton gets a pair of goals when Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jesse Puljujarvi score. In the second, Edmonton takes the 3-0 lead when Dominik Kahun gets his fifth goal of the season. Calgary gets on the board when Elias Lindholm nets his eighth goal of the season. In the third period, Connor McDavid gets his 18th gal of the season as the Oilers take the 4-1 lead. Alex Chiasson and Darnell Nurse both score as the Oilers extend their lead over the Flames and make it a 6-1 game. Zach Kassian gives Edmonton the 7-1 lead and Calgary’s Mikael Backlund nets his sixth goal on the campaign to make it a 7-2 Oilers lead. Johnny Gaudreau nets his 12th goal to make it a 7-3 Oilers and victory.
