Game Recaps
- New York Rangers v. New Jersey Devils – 1p ET
- In New Jersey the New York Rangers would take on the Devils, and in the first period the Rangers would get goals from Adam Fox, Ryan Strome, and Kevin Rooney, but tallies from PK Subban and Mikhail Maltsev would only give the Rangers a one goal lead heading into the first intermission. Then in the second period Libor Hajek would score to grow the Rangers lead to two, and in the third period the Devils would get a goal from Nathan Bastian, but tallies from Filip Chytil and Strome (second of the game) would give the Rangers the 6-3 victory.
- Buffalo Sabres v. New York Islanders – 1p ET
- On Long Island the New York Islanders would wear the worst Reverse Retro jerseys in the League as they host the Buffalo Sabres. In the first period Jacob Bryson would score for the Sabres to take the 1-0 lead, but in the second period the Isles would get goals from Mathew Barzal, Brock Nelson, Cal Clutterbuck, and Scott Mayfield to take a 4-1 lead. Then in the third period Sam Reinhart would score for the Sabres, but Anders Lee 11th of the season would give the Islanders the 5-2 victory.
- Philadelphia Flyers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 1p ET
- In the third and final Battle of Pennsylvania for the week, the Philadelphia Flyers would take on the Pittsburgh Penguins in Pittsburgh, and in the first period Travis Konecny would open the scoring for the Flyers, but goals from Evgeni Malkin and Bryan Rust would give the Pens the 2-1 lead. Then in the second period Zach Aston-Reese would tally for the Pens, but goals from Kevin Hayes and Shayne Gostisbehere would send the game into the third period tied at three. In the third period the Penguins would get a goal from Jared McCann to give them the 4-3 victory.
- Florida Panthers v. Nashville Predators – 2p ET
- In Nashville the Predators would play host to the Florida Panthers, and in the first period both teams would trade tallies as Aaron Ekblad would strike for the Panthers and Eeli Tolvanen for the Predators. Then in the second period Jonathan Huberdeau and a pair of goals from Noel Acciari would give the Panthers the three goal lead, and in the third period Viktor Arvidsson would strike for the Preds, but a goal from Frank Vatrano and the hat trick tally from Acciari would give the Panthers the 6-2 victory.
- Toronto Maple Leafs v. Vancouver Canucks – 7p ET
- In Vancouver for Hockey Night in Canada, the Canucks would play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs, and in the first period Brock Boeser would open the scoring for the Canucks, but a John Tavares tally would tie the game at one. Then in the second period Jimmy Vesey would score to give the Leafs the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period Bo Horvat, JT Miller, and Nils Hoglander would score for the Canucks to give them the 4-2 victory.
- Minnesota Wild v. Arizona Coyotes – 7p ET
- In Arizona the Coyotes would play host to the Minnesota Wild, and in the first period the Wild would get goals from Matt Dumba and Jordan Greenway to give them the 2-0 lead. However, in the second period Lawson Crouse and Jakob Chychrun would score to tie the game at two for the Coyotes. Then in the third period Conor Garland and Tyler Pitlick (two goals) would both strike to give the Coyotes the 5-2 victory.
- Winnipeg Jets v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET
- In Montreal the Canadiens would play host to the Winnipeg Jets, and in the first period Josh Anderson would net his 10th of the season to give the Habs the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period the flood gates would open as Tyler Toffoli, Brendan Gallagher (two goals), and Joel Armia would all strike to give the Habs a commanding 5-0 lead. In the third period Mathieu Perreault would score to get the Jets on the board, but goals from Paul Byron and Jeff Petry would score to give the Canadiens the 7-1 victory.
- Anaheim Ducks v. Colorado Avalanche – 8p ET
- In Colorado the Avalanche and Anaheim Ducks would do battle, and in the first period Rickard Rakell would strike to give the Ducks the 1-0 lead. In the second period Troy Terry would score for the Ducks to gain the two goal lead, but tallies from Logan O’Connor and Mikko Rantanen would tie the game at two. In the third, Rantanen would net his second goal of the night to give the Avs the 3-2 lead. Brandon Saad gets his eighth goal on the season to give Colorado the 4-2 advantage. Anaheim strikes to bring the game within one when Troy Terry gets his fourth goal on the season. Kevin Shattenkirk ties the game with his first goal of the season and in overtime Ryan Getzlaf nets his third goal of the season to give the Ducks the 5-4 win over the Avalanche.
- Columbus Blue Jackets v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET
- In Dallas the Columbus Blue Jackets would come to town to take on the Stars, and in the first period Jason Dickinson and Joe Pavelski would score to give Dallas the 2-0 lead. In the second period Miro Heiskanen would strike to grow the Stars lead to three. In the third, Roope Hintz gets his fifth goal of the season and Radek Faksa gets a shorthanded goal as the Stars go on to shutout the Columbus Blue Jackets with the 5-0 win.
- St. Louis Blues v. Los Angeles Kings – 9p ET
- In the City of Angels the Kings look to down the Blues once again. In the first, St. Louis gets three goals, with David Perron, his 10th, Nathan Walker, his first of the season, and Ryan O’Reilly, his eighth, to give the Blues the 3-0 lead. Anze Kopitar gets the Kings on the board with his fifth of the season. In the second period, Kopitar gets his second goal of the night to bring Los Angeles within a goal. The game is tied when Matt Luff gets his first goal of the season. After a scoreless third, Adrian Kempe gets the game winner as the Kings down the Blues 4-3 in overtime.
- Calgary Flames v. Edmonton Oilers – 10p ET
- In the Battle of Alberta Part IV, the Oilers look to win the third game in the season series. In the first period, Calgary gets on the board with a Johnny Gaudreau goal at 14:49. Late in the second period, Jesse Puljujarvi nets his seventh goal of the season to tie the game 1-1. In the third period, Noah Hanifin gets his first goal of the season at 1:42 to give the Flames the 2-1 lead. Kailer Yamamoto ties the game at 6:07 with his sixth goal of the season. Edmonton gets the 3-2 lead when Connor McDavid got his 15th goal of the season at 16:15. Edmonton wins the fourth game in the Battle of Alberta 3-2 over the Calgary Flames.
- Vegas Golden Knights v. San Jose Sharks – 10:30p ET
- In San Jose, the Sharks look to take a bite out of Vegas. In the first, Mark Stone nets his sixth goal of the season to give the Golden Knights the 1-0 lead. In the second, Alex Tuch gets his 11th goal of the season at 5:01 to give Vegas a two goal lead. At 16:38, Tuch gets his second goal of the night to give the Golden Knights the 3-0 lead. At 11:03 in the third period, Reilly Smith gets his fifth goal of the season to give Vegas the 4-0 lead and win over the Sharks.
