St. Louis Blues Summary, Week of 1/31/2021

The Blues had a full week playing four games and going 2-2. They played one against the Ducks and 3 against the Coyotes. Their Saturday February 6 game was originally planned against the Avalanche, but was canceled due to COVID issues, so the league decided to substitute that game with another one against the Coyotes because they were still in town.

The Blues opened the week with a convincing 4-1 win over the Ducks. They were led by 2 goals from Brayden Schenn, who also had 6 shots on goal. Ville Husso played very well, stopping 25 out of 26 shots.

The Blues continued their winning streak on Tuesday, beating the Coyotes 4-3. Goals were scored by Ryan O’Reilly, Mike Hoffman, Vince Dunn, and a spectacular goal by Justin Faulk.

Unfortunately the Blues would not only lose the next two games to the Coyotes, by scores of 4-3 and 3-1, they also lost Robert Thomas to a thumb injury for the next 4-6 weeks.

Let’s hope for better the next week.
