Game Recap:
Coming into the final game of the day for Day Two for the NWHL season, both the Buffalo Beauts and the Boston Pride look to earn their first win of the season, and in the first period the PRide would strike first as Jillian Dempsey would score her first of the season. However, former Pride player Jordan Jorun would score to tie the game at one for the Beauts, but with 64 seconds left in the first period McKenna Brand would snipe one past Carly Jackson to give the Pride the 2-1 lead.
Heading into the second period the Beauts would get themselves into penalty trouble as Iveta Klimasova and Dominique Kremer would both get called for tripping to give the Pride a 5 on 3 advantage, and the Pride would score on both powerplay opportunities at 5 on 3 and 5 on 4 as Jillian Dempsey would net her second of the game and become the first player to reach 100 career NWHL points, and then would be followed up by Sammy Davis’ first career NWHL goal to grow the Pride’s lead to three. Then in th efinal minutes of the period Taylor Wenczkowski would net her first career NWHL goal to give the Pride the commanding 5-1 lead.
In the third period it would be relatively quiet as the Pride would shut things down and keep the Beauts off the scorebord as they would secure the 5-1 victory.
