Tonight on the third day of free agency the Buffalo Sabres made a splash with the signing of forward Taylor Hall.
Hall, 28, signed a one year deal worth $8 million. The breakdown of his contract would see him paid $7 million in salary and $1 million in bonuses. Hall’s deal also includes both a No Move Clause, and a No Trade Clause.
During the 2019-20 season Hall would start the season with the New Jersey Devils where he would play 30 games. He would record six goals and 19 assists for 25 points before being traded on December 16th to Arizona. With the Coyotes Hall would record 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points in 35 games played.
Also notable to this signing is the reuniting of head coach Ralph Krueger with Hall, who both spent time together in Edmonton with the Oilers.
Time will tell how Hall’s time with the Sabres will go and what type of impact he will have on the team.
