Tampa Bay Lightning v. Columbus Blue Jackets

Game 5 – Tampa leads 3-1

First Period:

Game 5 was all Tampa Bay at the beginning of the first with Tyler Johnson putting in his third of the playoffs to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead.

Blake Coleman added to the lead as Tampa took a commanding 2 goal lead.

Columbus managed some life and got on the board when Nick Foligno cut the lead in half.

Second Period:

Kevin Stenlund provided Columbus with the equalizer with his first of the playoffs to tie the game up at 2.

Alexander Wennberg gave Columbus the lead with a late period goal.

Columbus took a 3-2 lead in to the third, looking to extend the series.

Third Period:

Things were looking good for Columbus as Oliver Bjorkstrand gave them a commanding 4-2 lead.

Kevin Shattenkirk though finally scored his first of the playoffs to give Tampa a little life.

Down by one, Tampa pulled Vasilevsky with two minutes left. The move proved to be correct as Anthony Cirelli scored with about a minute and a half left to send the game to overtime.

Overtime:

While Columbus played a tough series, in the end, Tampa’s talent was too much as it took just five minutes for Brayden Point to send the Lightning to the next round.

Tampa wins the series 4-1.
