- The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced that they have fined Vegas Golden Knights forward Max Pacioretty $2500 for slashing forward Alex DeBrincat of the Chicago Blackhawks.
Washington Capitals v. New York Islanders – 12p EST Start Time
To begin Day 6 of action the Capitals and Islanders faced off in Game 3 of their series up in Toronto. In the first period the Capitals were penalty prone, but their penalty kill was lights out. However, great body positioning by Anders Lee would allow him to tip in the pass in front of the net to give the Islanders the 1-0 lead. In the second period the Capitals would get a powerplay opportunity, and they would make the Islanders pay as Evgeny Kuznetsov would score the PPG to tie the game at one. After a scoreless third period this game would go to overtime and 4:28 into the extra frame Mathew Barzal would score to give the Islanders the 2-1 victory and the 3-0 series lead.

Dallas Stars v. Calgary Flames – 2p EST Start Time
Out in Edmonton the Stars and Flames do battle as the Stars look to tie the series at two. In the first period Joe Pavelski would score late in the period while on the powerplay to give the Stars the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period 1:54 in to the period while on the powerplay Johnny Gaudreau would score to tie the game at one, but then both teams would trade goals as Pavelski would net his second of the game to retake the lead for the Stars, but less than 45 seconds later while on the powerplay Sam Bennett would score to tie the game back up at two. However, it not end there as Bennett would score again to take the lead for the Flames, but Denis Gurianov would strike late on the powerplay to tie the game at three. In the third period Tobia Rieder would score shorthanded to take the 4-3 lead fro the Flames, but with 12 seconds remaining in regulation Pavelski would complete the hat trick to tie the game and send it to overtime. Then late in the extra period John Klingberg would let off a blast to win the game for the Stars 5-4 and tie the series at two.

Vegas Golden Knights v. Chicago Blackhawks – 630p EST Start Time
Back in Edmonton the Golden Knights look to sweep the Blackhawks and advance to the Second Round. In the first period Drake Caggiula and Matthew Highmore would score for the 2-0 lead, but before the period would be over Shea Theodore would score for the Knights to get on the board. After a scoreless second period Alex DeBrincat would score the empty netter to give Chicago the 3-1 victory and stay alive to force Game 5.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Montreal Canadiens – 8p EST Start Time
Back in Toronto the Flyers look to retake the series lead against the Canadiens. In the first period Jakub Voracek would strike to get the Flyers on the board first, and that would be all that would be needed as the Flyers would take the 1-0 victory to retake the series lead over the Canadiens.

St. Louis Blues v. Vancouver Canucks – 1030p EST Start Time
In the final game of the day, the Canucks look to grow their series lead to three over the Blues. After a scoreless first period JT Miller would strike first while on the powerplay to give the Canucks the 1-0 lead, but later in the period Justin Faulk would net the first goal for the Blues to tie the game. Then in the final two minutes of the second both teams would trade goals again as David Perron would strike for the Blues, and then Elias Pettersson would tie it for the Canucks. After a scoreless third period this game would require overtime, and with five minutes left in the extra frame Brayden Schenn would score to give the Blues the 3-2 victory over the Canucks, and get them back in the series to force a Game 5.
