Arizona Coyotes v. Colorado Avalanche – 2p EST Start Time
For Friday the games would start out west in Edmonton as the Coyotes look to even their series with the Avalanche. In the first period Nathan MacKinnon would score 3:40 in the game for the early 1-0 lead, but late in the period Clayton Keller would score to tie the game back up at one. Tyson Jost would open up the scoring early again for Colorado, but 89 seconds later Michael Grabner would score for the Coyotes to tie the game at two. Then in the third period Andre Burakovsky would score with less than three minutes left in regulation to give the Avalanche the 3-2 victory and the two game series lead.

Montreal Canadiens v. Philadelphia Flyers – 3p EST Start Time
In Toronto the Canadiens look to even their series with the Flyers, and in the first period Tomas Tatar and Jesperi Kotkaniemi would score to give Montreal the 2-0 lead as they would out shoot Philadelphia 12 to nothing in the first 15 minutes of action. In the final five minutes of the first the Flyers would out shoot the Canadiens six to four. Then in the second period the Canadiens would continue their dominance over the Flyers as Tatar would net his second of the game while on the powerplay 85 seconds into the period, then late in the period Joel Armia would score to grow Montreal’s lead to 4-0. In the third period Kotkaniemi would score on the powerplay for his second of the game and give the Canadiens the 5-0 victory and tie the series at one.

Vancouver Canucks v. St. Louis Blues – 630p EST Start Time
Back in Edmonton the Canucks and Blues face off for Game 2 of their First Round series. In the first period Bo Horvat would get the Canucks on the board first while shorthanded, and they would take the 1-0 lead into the first intermission. Then in the second period Tanner Pearson would strike 13 minutes into the period while on the powerplay to grow Vancouver’s lead to two, but with 64 seconds left in the second period Ryan O’Reilly would score while shorthanded to bring the Blues back within one. In the third period Elias Pettersson would strike on the powerplay to give the Canucks the 3-1 lead, but shortly after Sammy Blais would score to bring the Blues back within one. Then with seven seconds left in regulation David Perron would score to tie the game at three to send the game to overtime. Then in overtime Bo Horvat would strike for his second of the game less than six minutes into the extra frame to give the Canucks the 4-3 victory and the 2-0 series lead.

New York Islanders v. Washington Capitals – 8p EST Start Time
Back in Toronto the Capitals look to bounce back against the Islanders. Less than a minute in the game Alex Ovechkin would net his first of the playoffs to give the Capitals the early 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Nick Leddy would strike on the powerplay to tie the game at one, and then Matt Martin would score a little over two minutes later to give the Islanders the 2-1 lead. However, the Capitals would not lie down, well Ovechkin wouldn’t as he would score his second of the game to tie the game at two, but Brock Nelson would score 15 seconds later to retake the lead. In the third period Cal Clutterbuck and Anders Lee (ENG) would score in the final three minutes of regulation to ice this game and take the 5-2 victory and the 2-0 series lead.

Dallas Stars v. Calgary Flames – 1030p EST Start Time
In our final game of the day the Flames and Stars look to take the 2-1 series lead in their First Round matchup. After a scoreless first period Mikael Backlund would score while shorthanded as he and Elias Lindholm attacked the Dallas net. Then in the third period TJ Brodie would strike to give the Flames the 2-0 victory, and take the 2-1 series lead over the Stars.
