Game Recap:
The St. Louis Blues begin their official defense of the Stanley Cup as they face the Vancouver Canucks for Game 1 of their Western Conference First Round matchup. In the first period the Canucks would get an early powerplay against the Blues, and they would only need 12 seconds as Bo Horvat would score to give Vancouver the 1-0 lead. Then later in the first, the Blues would get their first powerplay opportunity of the game and St. Louis would take advantage as David Perron would score to tie the game at one a piece.
In the second period Elias Pettersson would tally on the powerplay to give the Canucks the 2-1 lead, but a little over a minute later Jaden Schwartz would tally to tie the game back up at two. During the second period the Blues would waste three opportunities to take hold of the game while the Canucks capitalized on one of the two that they had.
Then in the third period the Canucks would take over as Troy Stetcher, Bo Horvat, and JT Miller (PPG) all would score to give the Canucks the dominate 5-2 victory. The Canucks now take the 1-0 series lead over the Blues.
