NHL Three Stars of the Week for Feb. 24th – Mar. 1st

Today the National Hockey League announced their Three Stars of the Week for the week of February 24th through March 1st.

 

First Star – Kevin Fiala (LW, Minnesota Wild)

  • Fiala would record four multiple games in route to leading the NHL in goals and points (4g, 5a, 9p). He would start the week with a goal and an assist on Feb. 25th against Columbus, then on Feb. 27th would post a three point game against Detroit. Fiala would then follow that up with another two point game against Columbus on Feb. 28th. To close out the week Fiala would register a goal and an assist against Washington on March 1st.

Second Star – Ryan Ellis (D, Nashville Predators)

  • Ellis would record multiple points in all three games he would play for the Predators to lead all defensemen with seven points (1g, 6a). He would begin the week with two assists against Ottawa on Feb. 25th, then on Feb. 27 against Calgary Ellis would record three assists. Then to close out the week on Feb. 29th Ellis would record two assists against Colorado.

Third Star – Pavel Francouz (G, Colorado Avalanche)

  • Francouz would be a perfect 3-0-0 with a 2.00 goals against average, and a .946 save percentage for the Avalanche. He would start the week with a 31 save victory over Buffalo on Feb. 26th, followed by a 45 save victory over Carolina on Feb. 28th. To close the week Francouz would record 30 saves against Nashville for the victory.
