Game Recap:

The Washington Capitals head to Minnesota to face the Wild and finish their short two game road trip, and boy would we have a wild one (pun intended) to start this game. In the first period Ryan Donato would open the scoring for the Wild three minutes into the game, but Alex Ovechkin would lead the charge as he would net two goals and Richard Panik would score his eighth of the season to give the Capitals the 3-1 lead. However, while on the powerplay Kevin Fiala would fire a bullet over Braden Holtby’s shoulder to bring the Wild back within one.

 

Then after a chippy second period, Tom Wilson would score his 21st of the season 40 seconds into the third period to give the Capitals their two goal lead back. However, the Wild would strike back while on the powerplay as Zach Parise would be able to take the puck from behind the net and jam it in past Holtby to bring the Wild back within one, but the Capitals would hold on to defeat the Wild 4-3.
