Game Recap:

This afternoon the New Jersey Devils take on the Los Angeles Kings as their western swing road trip continues. The first period saw the Devils on their heels a bit as the Kings had some prime offensive opportunities but were unable to convert on their chances. However, Jesper Bratt would get the Devils a 1-0 lead as Nikita Gusev would fake a shot and pass it to Bratt who would burry the puck behind Kings goalie Jonathan Quick. Bratt’s goal would be the only goal scored heading into the second period.

Dustin Brown would get the score tied for the Kings a little bit passed the midway mark off a give and go play between him and Anze Kopitar. Brown’s goal would be his fourteenth on the season and the only goal of the period. After two periods, the score between the Devils and Kings would be 1-1.

Period three saw each team trade a lot of chances to win the game in regulation but were unable to as both goalies made the necessary saves to force overtime. In overtime the Kings were dominate as they held possession of the puck for a minute and fifty-eight seconds as Adrian Kempe would get the game winner as the Kings went into win by a final score of 2-1. New Jersey is back in action tomorrow night as they take on the Anaheim Ducks.
