Good evening Devils fans! Tonight your New Jersey Devils head to the “Motor City” to take on the Detroit Red Wings. After starting their youth movement yesterday at the NHL Trade Deadline, the Devils got off to a good start against the struggling and also young Red Wings. Joey Anderson got the scoring started for the Devils as he put in the rebound in for his third goal of the season. That would be the only goal of the first period and the Devils would take a 1-0 lead.
In the second period, New Jersey would strike approximately two minutes apart to give the Devils a 3-0 lead. Jesper Bratt & Kyle Palmieri each scored on the power play. Bratt sets a new career high in goal as he scored his fourteenth of the season. After two periods, the Devils would keep their 3-0 lead.
In the third period, Detroit finally got on the board as Valteri Fipula scored his sixth goal of the season. However, Nikita Gusev added his eleventh goal of the season on the power play to give the Devils a 4-1 lead. That would be the final score as the Devils played an overall well played game.
