News:

  • Leading up to the NHL Trade Deadline on Monday, there would be three trades including Alec Martinez being traded to Vegas by Los Angeles.

 

  • In the NWHL the Connecticut Whale have signed Allie LaCombe for the remainder of the 2019-20 season.

 

Game Recaps:

New York Rangers v. Chicago Blackhawks – 8p EST Start Time

In Chicago the Blackhawks would host the New York Rangers for an Original Six matchup. In the first period Filip Chytil would score for the Rangers, then in the second period Dominik Kubalik would score to tie the game at one for the Blackhawks. Then in the third period, the Blackhawks would get goals from Kubalik (second of the game) and Drake Caggiula, but the Rangers would get goals from Pavel Buchnevich, Ryan Strome, Chris Kreider, Artemi Panerin, and Mika Zibanejad to take the commanding 6-3 victory.

 

Boston Bruins v. Edmonton Oilers – 830p EST Start Time

In Edmonton the Oilers would face the Boston Bruins in a tightly contested matchup. In the first period Patrice Bergeron would open the scoring to give the Bruins the one goal lead. then after a scoreless second period Sam Gagner would tie the game at one and send the game to overtime which would see David Pastrnak score the game winner for the Bruins to take the 2-1 victory.

 

Arizona Coyotes v. Dallas Stars – 830p EST Start Time

In Dallas the Stars would host the Arizona Coyotes, and in the first period Corey Perry would strike to take the lead for the Stars. Then in the second period Radek Faksa would score for the Stars, but goals from Taylor Hall and Christian Fischer would tie the game at two for the Coyotes. Then in the third period Jamie Oleksiak would strike for his second of the season to give the Stars the 3-2 victory.

 

Florida Panthers v. Anaheim Ducks – 10p EST Start Time

In Anaheim the Florida Panthers would come to visit their expansion sibling in the Ducks. In the first period both teams would trade goals as Max Jones would get the Ducks on the board first, and then Aleksander Barkov would tie the game at one. In the second period Vincent Trocheck and Aleksi Saarela would score to give the Panthers the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period MacKenzie Weegar would strike to give the Panthers the 4-1 victory.

 

New York Islanders v. Colorado Avalanche – 10p EST Start Time

In Colorado the Avalanche would host the New York Islanders, and in the first forty minutes Joonas Donskoi and and Andre Burakovsky would both tally their 15th and 20th goals of the season, respectively, to give the Avalanche the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period Brock Nelson would score for the Islanders, but Gabriel Landeskog’s 16th of the season would secure the Avalanche the 3-1 victory.

 

Minnesota Wild v. Vancouver Canucks – 1030p EST Start Time

In Vancouver the Minnesota Wild come to town to visit the Canucks, and in the first period Kevin Fiala would strike to to give the Wild the 1-0 lead. In the second period Jay Beagle would tie the game at one, but Luke Kunin would score to retake the lead for the Wild. Then in the third period JT Miller would score a pair of goals for the Canucks to take the lead, but Alex Galchenyuk would net his first goal as a member of the Wild to tie the game at three and send the game to overtime, which would need the shootout. In the shootout it would be Galchenyuk scoring to give the Wild the 4-3 victory.
