News:

  • The Washington Capitals re-assigned defenseman Martin Fehervary and Goaltender Vitek Vanecek to Hershey of the AHL.

 

  • After the Toronto Maple Leafs loss to the New York Rangers, they would announce that they have made a trade with the Los Angeles Kings.
    • The Leafs acquired goaltender Jack Campbell and forward Kyle Clifford from the Kings for forward Trevor Moore, Columbus;s 3rd Round pick in 2020, and a conditional 3rd Round pink in 2021.
    • The Kings will be retaining 50% of Clifford’s salary.

Toronto Maple Leafs v. New York Rangers – 7:30p EST Start Time

At Madison Square Garden the New York Rangers would host Original Six rival Toronto Maple Leafs. In the first period John Tavares would open the scoring for the Leafs, but Fhilip Chytil, Mika Zibanejad, and Chris Kreider would score to give the Rangers the 3-1 lead. In the final 40 minutes Auston Matthews would score a pair of goals for the Leafs, but goals from Pavel Buchnevich and Greg McKegg would give the Rangers the 5-3 victory.

 

Boston Bruins v. Chicago Blackhawks – 8p EST Start Time

In Chicago we would be treated to another Original Six rivalry game as the Chicago Blackhawks would play host to the Boston Bruins. After a scoreless first period both teams would trade goals as Sean Kuraly would score for Boston, and Alex DeBrincat would score on the powerplay to keep the game tied. After a scoreless third period Charlie McAvoy would score his first of the season to give the Bruins the 2-1 overtime victory.
