Detroit Red Wings v. New York Rangers – 7p EST Start Time
At Madison Square Garden the New York Rangers would play host to the Detroit Red Wings for an Original Six matchup. After a scoreless first period the Rangers would have a three goal period as Pavel Buchnevich, Chris Kreider, and Artemi Panarin would score to take the 3-0 lead. Then in the third period Robby Fabbri and Valtteri Filppula would get the Wings on the board, but Mika Zibanejad’s powerplay tally would secure the Rangers the 4-2 victory.
Philadelphia Flyers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p EST Start Time
In the battle of Pennsylvania the Pittsburgh Penguins would play host to the Philadelphia Flyers. In the first period Jakub Voracek would score on the powerplay for the Flyers to take the one goal lead. Then in the second period Tyler Pitlick would score for the Flyers, but Evgeni Malkin, Bryan Rust, and Kris Letang would score for the Penguins to take the 3-2 lead. In the third period Scott Laughton would tie the game at three, but in overtime it would be Sidney Crosby scoring the game winner to give the Penguins the 4-3 victory.
Washington Capitals v. Ottawa Senators – 730p EST Start Time
Alex Ovechkin nets two goals to pass Mark Messier as the Washington Capitals defeat the Ottawa Senators 5-3 on the road.
Vegas Golden Knights v. Carolina Hurricanes – 730p EST Start Time
In Carolina the Hurricanes would host the Vegas Golden Knights in a tightly contested matchup. In the first period Paul Stastny and Jonathan Marchessault would score for the Knights to take the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Teuvo Teravainen would score to get the Hurricanes on the board, but in the third period Brock McGinn and Sebastian Aho would score for Carolina, however, goals from Nate Schmidt and Alex Tuch would give the Golden Knights the 4-3 victory.
Boston Bruins v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p EST Start Time
In Winnipeg the Boston Bruins would visit the Jets. In the first period Patrik Laine would kick off the scoring to give the Jets the 1-0 lead, but Patrice Bergeron would tie the game at one on the powerplay. Then in the third period Jake DeBrusk would score on the powerplay to give the Bruins the 2-1 victory.
St. Louis Blues v. Edmonton Oilers – 9p EST Start Time
In Edmonton the Oilers would host the St. Louis Blues, and in the first period Leon Draisaitl and Caleb Jones would score to give the Oilers the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period David Perron would score for the Blues, and in the third period Robert Thomas would tie the game at two. However, Draisaitl would net his second of the game to retake the lead for the Oilers and Josh Archibald would score to secure the 4-2 victory.
Tampa Bay Lightning v. Anaheim Ducks – 10p EST Start Time
In Anaheim the Anaheim Ducks would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first team both teams would net two goals as Ondrej Palat and Erik Cernak would score for Tampa, and Rickard Rakell and Michael Del Zotto would score for the Ducks. In the second period Anthony Cirelli would score to give Tampa the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period Nikita Kucherov would score for the Lightning to take the 4-2 lead. Troy Terry would score for the Ducks, but it would not be enough as the Lightning would go on to win 4-3.
