Game Recap:

In the second game of their back to back, the Washington Capitals would travel to Philadelphia to take on the Flyers. In the first period The Flyers would open the scoring with Travis Konecny’s 14th of the season, but the Capitals would respond with back to back goals from Nicklas Backstrom and Jakub Vrana to take the 2-1 lead. However, in the final minute of the first period the Flyers would tie the game at two as Robert Hagg would score his first of the season.

 

In the second period the Capitals would get three powerplay opportunities, but would fail to convert on all three. However, the Capitals would out shoot the Flyers 11-3 in the period, but during the third Capitals powerplay Kevin Hayes would strike for the shorthanded tally to give the Flyers the 3-2 lead.

 

Then in the third period the Capitals would get two more powerplay opportunities, but the Flyers would kill them both to go a perfect 5 for 5 and hold on to win the game 3-2.
