2020 World Juniors – Sunday, December 29th, 2019

In International competition the IIHF World Junior Championships are underway in Ostrava and Trinec, Czech Republic for Day Four of the tournament.

Kazakhstan Kazakhstan v. FinlandFinland

In the first game of Day Four action we would see Kazakhstan take on Finland. In the first period Patrik Puistola would score first to get the Fins on the board, but Andrei Buyalski would tie the game at one, but Kristian Tanus would strike back for the Fins to take the 2-1 lead. Then in the second period Matias Maccelli and Aatu Raty would score to grow the Fins lead to three, and in the third period Puistola would score his second of the game and goals from Mikko Kokkonen  and Kim Nousianen would secure Finalnd the 7-1 victory.

 

USA United States v. Russia Russia

In the second game of the day Russia would face the United States, and after a scoreless first period the Americans would strike with goals from Arthur Kaliyev and Nicholas Robertson to take the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period Kaliyev would score his second of the game to take the three goal lead. Alexander Romanov would score to get the Russians on the board, but it would not be enough as the U/nited States would defeat Russia 3-1.
